Fellas - I'm trying to finish up a Jonsereds 110, a 110cc saw from the early 1970's. I'm hung up on finding a piston pin bearing and spacer issues.

I have an NOS piston, but I only have one of the two spacers (these fit on the piston pin/wrist pin on the outside of the pin bearing). The dimensions are 21 mm OD, 14 mm ID, and 1.36 mm width. I know I can't go to a hardware store and find this in a bin, but does anyone have any ideas on where to find one besides getting one custom made on a lathe?

On the piston pin bearing, I'll obviously need something that's got 14 mm ID to fit on the 14 mm pin. As for the OD, the ID of the small end of the rod is 18 mm, so I'll need a bearing that's about 18 mm in OD. The width is what I'm not sure about. The width of the small end of the rod is 15 mm. Is that it? Or does the bearing need to cover the entire pin from spacer to spacer? If so, that would be 15.5 mm.

How much measure you in the piston?

Sachs Dolmar 166 is a 14x18x17mm needle bearing.

17mm is too wide for the bearing. Does the 166 use spacers on either side of the bearing? If so, do you have measurements? Thanks

No spacers used in the 166.
14x18x14,2 is used in a Zundapp ks80

Have you done an open internet search for 14mm thrust washers? There may be some vintage motorcycle applications that would cross over.

I did that years ago when I was building a Mac 125 and I didn't have the SP style thrust washers. I found some that were applicable from a motorcycle
parts dealer.

That's it -- thrust washer. I haven't but I'll give that a shot. I should be able to find something now that I'm using the right nomenclature.

If you find a little bit wider bearing you won't need the thrust washers.
The pistons i had Wiseco make for the 166's have a wider spread in the
piston so a stock 166 bearing wouldn't work. Wiseco came up with a wider
bearing that works perfect. Wiseco may be able to supply you with a correct
thrust washer.

Bearing width matching the rod at 15mm would be my best bet for success, no need for the extra 0.5mm

I would preference that and the correct spacers over a wider bearing, you want the little end locating the rod centrally, allowing it to wonder on a wider top/little end bearing could allow the bottom end of the rod to rub against the webs of the crank, probably not a problem, but not the way you want it.

What is the width of the opening the rod end and both spacers go into?

That's what I'm thinking on the bearing - 15 mm is good. And I already have one of those.

The width inside the piston is 18.29 mm. Once you subtract the width of the thrust washers (1.36 mm each), you end up with 15.57 mm. With a 15 mm bearing, that's .57 mm of slack space in between the thrust washers and bearing.
