Well it has been a few threads now but thanks to a lot of help from Shawn, this saw is a giant bundle of friggin fun to run. Videos from more than one filmer depending on who was running the saws.

First three chapters of this story can be found here:

I dropped the saw off about an hour away with Shawn and he spent a good bit of vacation time correcting a myriad of problems.
He installed thread certs, countersunk the head to accept the proper sized socket head cap screws and after careful measurement he re-machined the head at least 4 times, dropping compression somewhere between 100 and 200 pounds!!!! It is can now be started without destroying recoils :)
With a stock carb and muffler shell with stock baffles he sent me a short vid of it running again and this time it was for more than one cut :)

If any of you guys have any info on Ridley Saws of California, I would love to know about them and contact them. This cylinder is done differently than modern saws and the work is beautiful inside, but it wouldn't feel right sharing that stuff without consent. Yeah I am funny that way.

Today Shawn stopped by with Piper and I got to run it in the cant with the 16" Squarefile machined roller nose and a 60DL race chain from John Reilly and an 8 pin sprocket.
With the open muffler this this thing is earsplittingly loud :) :) :)
My skills as an operator are on clear display in this clip :)

Next we added the pipe which makes this thing about the least ergonomic device on the planet.
some more evidence of my absolute mastery of the cutting of the cant
on the second and third cuts I really tried to lay on it
she got faster :)

Even pushing 0n the saw, she wanted more :)
Time for the 9 pin and a different roller nose with a ECSaws 20" race chain, she picked up speed once again.
HEY DAVE INSERT THE VIDEO HERE WHEN YOUR WIFE EDITS IT TO BE RIGHTSIDE UP, YA BIG DUMMY.

After we played with some other saws, Shawn decided to give a three cut a try with this awkward misshapen watermelon of a saw. It certainly doesn't have the smooth clean lines that make an 064 so dang beautiful :)

I mean , well all 064s are beautiful but this one is a step-sister who is strung out on meth in the looks department :)

So for the final round of cuts we added the oversized carb that came with the saw, no choke and the bore is just a cylinder with no steps.
She loved it and picked up speed yet again.

Wider bar machined to work with the 10 pin sprocket will be the next step and then modifying the pipe mounting to balance it better.

Thankfully I don't cut firewood, this thing is just a ton of fun to run in the cant.
Big thanks for Shawn for helping me get this project sorted and running right.

Dave if you have a enough radius You might look at flipping the pipe over and going under the crank case, just weld some stands on it cut the stinger off on a cone on the down streamside of the expansion, roll it away from your leg and re-weld it!!! Glad you got it going,,, looks like fun
