3.6L V6 Pentastar. Very early on in my research I ruled out a V8 and no turbos for me.
I hear you. The model truck I'll get next has recently replaced a 5.7 V8 with a 3.5 V6 that has 50 more h.p. than the V8 had.

I've had a supercharger but not a turbo. Liked the supercharger because you could putt around and get great m.p.gs or haul ass and not.

If it’s the truck I’m thinking it is may still want to hold off awhile because they are still having lower end issues. While not huge numbers it’s a lot more that’s the 5.7 ever had and the rear axils aren’t doing so hot either at the moment.
Milage isn’t much if any better on the 3.4 either. I have lots of buddies with modified trucks and cars most of them prefer the turbos because you don’t have a constant parasitic loss driving the compressor if just putting around not needing boost. They said they’ll take the slight turbo lag over the constant hp loss plus no belts ect to deal with but both do the job.

My dad pulls his heavy fiberglass boat with the 3.6 Grand Cherokee and has had no problems in 214,000 miles. It has my respect!
How one is geared can definitely make up for less engine. We put 4.56 gears in our little Toyota. Now with the cruise control on it stays in drive pulling a trailer on hills it used to shift down to 3rd on.

Yeah they just recalled another batch because machining debris was left in the crankcase. I hope someone has a warm sitter.

Yep. Building engines in Alabama may not have been the best decision. Kinda like that little shortcut the Donner party took.
