Jeep, the most towed vehicle in America.

To be fair, most Jeep fans consider it just a platform to be modified and buy them well used. What a Jeep is like when new is irrelevant. The small front wheel drive ones like the Compass are hot garbage, just a Neon with more ground clearance. They are not worthy of the Jeep name.

This is true. Fiat/Chrysler could sell the heck out of a new stripped Jeep chassis. 99% of buyers get them for the look, might get on the occasional gravel road. Offroading is a big deal around here. Out snow wheeling awhile back I was admiring the upgrades the Sheriffs Dept had on one of their Jeeps. Deputy said "Everything broke. We had to replace everything and by everything I mean everything. Whole front and rear axle assemblies, springs, shocks, all the mounting brackets, bolts.............."

Wish I had an old XJ.

At my "Dealership" they have a few or more Jeep Rubicons on the showroom floor. All are Jurassic Park/World look alikes. I guess there are lots of Dinosaur film fans in my area.

Well, the heat started working again on my truck when I drove it this afternoon. I guess the blend door motor just needed to wake up! I tend to keep the temperature control either full cold or full hot.

carfax would likely not show any of this. it hasn't left the dealer lot yet., other than the title change.

Got the call. Truck was driven multiple times yesterday, 40+ miles each. Went home with a Mechanic and made it back to the dealership with zero problems.

I'll be picking it up later today.

I hope it turns out to be a good truck for you, you've earned it. I'd push for a partial refund or some kind of goodwill gesture for the month you've not been able to use it and the mileage put on it. As the manager said, "It's now a used truck", why would they expect you to pay a new price for it? Surely the dealership and Dodge would understand this would leave a really bad taste in a buyer's mouth.

Sounds familiar. I replaced one last week on an E-450 bus and it was junk, out of the box, from Napa. They brought up another one, had to take a grinder to the mounting bracket to make it fit. It lasted 2 days before failing.
I’ve never had luck with any starter or alternator from Napa.

I absolutley despise NAPA, half my life ago they sold very high quality parts, yes they were more pricey, but you actually got what you paid for, these days they try to live on the legacy of the past and now sell they same cheap crap as everyone else, just at a premium price. I refuse to use napa for anything other than consumables, and only when in a pinch.

Another thing I don't like about today's NAPA is you can't return a part to a store under a different ownership than where you bought it. Been my experience in the western U.S. anyway. They do sell Denso, though.

I would demand free extended warranty & on road assist, especially on everything that got tampered with.

First free weekend I'd put that vehicle through its paces, long drive with as many road variables as possible.

It is not even my vehicle yet it makes me feel weary! 😵‍💫

I have seen too many patch up jobs by official mill manufacturer mechanics to know they made it work to pass the working order check so they get their worksheet signed, just for the machine to fail again within hours, days, weeks with the same issue, or months with follow up issues related to the original one.

Good luck, enjoy Your new truck! :drive:

The truck is in the garage. Barely, it's very very large.

Not a fun path towards getting this. I still believe I got a great deal, but I paid for it with further gray hairs.

I will say what a comfortable vehicle. Luxury+. It was a long drive home, and I got to play with most of the controls. Most important was the gas mileage. 27+MPG in a 6000 pound truck making 305 HP. Wow!

That’s good milage, my buddy had a jeep with a pentastar in it and liked it overall engine wise, electrical and front diff that exploded at 50,000 in his grand Cherokee made him get rid of it.
