Time for the mowing season to begin and time for an oil change .Kawasaki FR 691v ,2 quarts of synthetic 30 WT .Drained it down,or so I thought and put new oil in only to discover I must have over filled it by a quart .All that excess oil does a number on the engine, fouls the plugs after it smokes like a steam engine burning solt coal and pine knots .So my first job today is doing it again but using a diesel fuel flush before adding new oil and paying more attention to what I'm doing .The oil drain on these Kaw engines isn't the best because accumulated sludge can block the flow on a drain down .

My brother decided to change the oil in his car not too long after he got his drivers license. I think it was a 1977 Mustang II, but he was just about done when my father got home and looked down to see a case worth of empty quart oil bottles, my brother was just pouring in the last one as it was coming up to the top of the oil riser....oops!!! 🤣

I fought that"oops " all day .Took me 4 hours to do a 2 hour job of mowing two acres .Dang thing would still oil foul one cylinder .Got out the carb cleaner and sand blasted it twice .After I finally opened up the gap to about 40-50 thou it kept running on two cylinder and never missed a beat 23 HP running on one is likely no more than 8 or 9 HP which on a 54 inch deck is not enough . . .
