Got used $100 , it's about 15-yo now but good shape. 6522SH, self propelled , 6.5 Briggs.
First question is, it starts up fine cold, but if shut off hot or stalls won't start again until cools off. Runs great otherwise. If I pull the plug it's not wet, but if I hit it with sandpaper will start right up and run fine again. WTF? I've worked on mowers/saws/tractors/cars/trucks/tillers/trimmers..... since the late 60s Any ideas on this?
Second is cogs on front drive wheels are about worn out. Any cross reference for what other mower wheels fit? Looking for wheels from a scrapper. Don't want to dump $50 on new wheels. Found a freebee mower on CL, cogs , axle, matched but dust covers just a bit different and I don't think the covers will swap.
Where it's used lawn is not big so can deal with no drive wheels for the summer but annoying it won't restart hot.
