I don't know when the Super XL12 came out, but the date on the brochure is 1967. Love the safety gear they used back then!

I like old stuff...

No problem. The brochure is in such nice condition you would swear it was just handed out at a shop today.

Will post it in the Homelite thread.

I have a Homelite catalog from the early 1970's, shows chain saws, chop saws, water pumps, brush cutters, etc.

First saw I ever laid eyes on when I was a youngster was my Dad's XL400. She popped her cookies back in about 1985 or so. To this day Dad blames the shop that talked him into running the "new" synthetic premix oil at a higher ratio than he always ran in it. I don't remember the numbers, but I don't think it made it through 2 tanks of fuel on it.

Entirely possible it may have lost a crank seal or something too.. I'll never know at this point as it got tossed in the junk.

I wish it didn't get tossed... With the resources we have available today compared to back then, I would be looking to get it going again.
