Hey guys,

Just got this 261c off my dealer is a 2023. Said old guy owned it and barely used it. He said it was checked out and all good. I pulled the muffler to check cylinder and noticed a tiny scratch vertical scratch on cylinder. Does this just look cosmetic. Unsure what gas and mix he used. I plan on running red armor and non ethanol like I do all of my saws. I just want your opinion.

TIA

Can u feel it if you gently run something over it, like a tuning screwdriver?

Nope just tried. The marks get finer almost nonexistent at bottom of piston.

From what I'm seeing I wouldn't be overly concerned. It may have been there as new. I'd run the snot out of it with quality oil @40:1.

Run it and enjoy the little saw. I know I do. Looks like a carbon streak but he ran it very little? No real carbon on the exhaust that I can see.

Yah dealer said he was in his 80’s. I thought the exhaust port looked pretty clean to. Thanks!
