I was going to do one old mower a week but I got bored.Got one from Indiana or the great white north. More like Richmond Indiana. 1962 Tecumseh with the wind up starter. Cast aluminum deck with a transmission. Richmond was considered the Lawn mower capital of the world at one time. Moto Mower Bicycle Handles.View attachment 143538 View attachment 143539 View attachment 143536 View attachment 143537

Thanks! I’ll check it out. I actually have a mid 80s Briggs with a side shaft for a pulley but it’s not going to work. Just a little bit off. I appreciate the help.I've seen take off Briggs engines of that sort on the Small Engine Warehouse site.
---Roy Pagent ,Dunkirk Indiana .Old boy hailed from Wartburg Tenn . 5 acres of solid engines, mowers and any thing you could possibly think of .Been there, bought a power washer .Old Roy actually knew some of my wifes kinfolks from Tenn .I think his son is running the business now .I've seen take off Briggs engines of that sort on the Small Engine Warehouse site.
That reminds me of a time when I hauled a complete 409 Chevy in the trunk of my 67 Impala and another when I hauled two small block Chevys in my mom's 76 Nova hatchback. My cherry picker took down with pins and fit laying across the back seat of that Impala. It was kind of funny on the previous .That pressure washer came with all the nozzles but only 25 feet of pressure hose .So I asked Roy about a longer hose .He said how about 50 feet of Goodyear 3000 PSI for 5 bucks --sold .I was going to drive back the 60 miles home and come back with my truck ,he said that big trunk on the 90 Caddy would get er-done.Took the handle off and both of us lifted that heavy pup in and off I went .Problem was I had to wrestle that heavy pot licker out of the trunk by myself . The trunk of a Cadillac is not the easiest thing to unload I found out .
IF memory serves me, Briggs built engines with the side PTO available in either rotation, So be sure you get an engine with the correct PTO rotation. This allowed for a choice of whether the cylinder was front or rear facing. Thanks! I’ll check it out. I actually have a mid 80s Briggs with a side shaft for a pulley but it’s not going to work. That is a cool old mower......Here is a new one that I just picked up. It is a Fairbanks Morris branded one with a Clinton engine. Best I can tell it is circa 1951-1954.View attachment 35267View attachment 35269View attachment 35270
