I think you,d smell bar oil being burned in the exhaust fumes..

if you put Diesel in your bar oil tank the night before it’s thinner but is still oil.
When you start the saw In the morning, you'd smell half burnt diesel if it was geting in.

I know your saying pressure in the bar tank but surely you would think it would weap back in the case.
And as Jacob said where the case bolts are. A quick check would also help. But to whip the carb and exhaust off for a pressure vac test is more tedious

As for the vibes it could be a bearing, but it could be the new chain.

take the chain and bar an check on another saw

I hope to hear the answer of your problems

My first choice would be to go through and check every single bolt on the saw and make sure they're all good and tight. I had a fresh rebuilt 372 that a guy needed fixed. He said "I've only run 5 tanks through it and it runs like crap, probably needs the carb rebuilt". The muffler bolts were loose, 2 case bolts and the cylinder bolts were all 2-3 turns out.

Well that sounds very familiar I used to use a 262xp and the 390 XP now I use a 261 a 460 and a 461.
But on a serious note I will be going through and checking bolts tomorrow.

I little history is in order regarding case bolts .Early on one short lived series of Stihl saws ,the 042 and 048 had a short life span .Although they ran just fine it was reported they developed case leaks .It was later blamed they didn't use enough bolts to hold the cases together .Truth of the matter was they used slotted head screws .This was before Torx head screws became popular .You could not get the torque on a slot head than you can on a Torx .
I have two 048's and one 042 and one of them did have slot heads which I replaced with either Torx or socket heads .The original 020 AV top handle is another one of those slot head deals .That one too I shall replace the screws as it needs a set of seals which I haven't got around to yet .It's a chore to even get the damned things out let alone getting them tight .Very bad plan .

Well now I am embarrassed I checked it today it's vibration took the oil cap off give it a few blips and you can actually see the oil coming up the sides of the tank and making it concave it's just that I've never seen it whip it to foam before like yesterday .
Thank you everybody for your input.
Cheers D

If that be the case and if I understand correctly that it leaks you don't have the cap closed all the way .If that's the case perhaps you need a new o-ring ? I know and have posted the size needed for a 200T but have no idea about a 460 .

That's great. Vibration + a little condensation in the oil will make grey foam. Did you get the vibration problem worked out?

Nope . I think it's a case of just not using it for a while as I have been in small timber for several weeks on the 261 and the 461 and it just caught me unawares.
Vibes dont bother me (I am one of the lucky ones) it is an angry saw with a lot of toque just wat I asked the builder for, it leaves my mates 660 for dead short or long bar .

Narh deets it is all I run on the 460 and 461and has been for decades and even on a new chain I give the rakers 2 swipes on the 1st sharpen as they are to high .
Rolls of chain are 46RM not chisel.

Now wait a minute here .If it wasn't leaking why the complaint ? Did I miss something ?
As far as oil slobber I'm not certain if I own a saw that doesn't .Kind of like my old Harleys and old Chevy's just marking it's spot .

The complaint was this is the first time I have ever seen foam in my oil tank been running this saw since 2012 and never seen foam in the oil tank , then later when I took the oil cap off and Blip the throttle it's shot it out the filler hole like a hose but after a tank of fuel the oil is hot and very thin in the video that's cold oil so I just climbed up the sides of the tank because of the vibration .
As I said this is embarrassing when I seen the fome I just put two and two together and came up with five and thought along the same lines as a blown head gasket in a car the air I thought was getting through from the crankcase and foaming the oil .

Ps I must be getting old and stupid
That and this is what I was greeted with when I started my day all around it was a s*** day.

Glad to hear its all good.
I had a bad case gasket on my 372 xtorq, had a thread about it. Went thru an entire rebuild.

runs like a champ now ;)
You had problems with previous huskys thats why you went to stihl? Were they case gaskets?
