I can’t say I was ever bullied mich as a kid, I don’t know why either I’ve always been smaller and skinnier than my peers. The one thing I can say though is no matter what I will stick up for what is right for my children. I will ALWAYS come to their aid but also teach them to fend for themselves. That said if an adult isn’t willing to set their kid strait I’m more than willing to set the parent straight and set and example for my children of what should be done to bullies and those that train/ allow them to be bullies.

I was bullied when i was in school. I was 4’6” until halfway through my senior year. I was lucky to be “taken in” by a group of guys who not only stopped me from being harassed but showed me more of how to deal with it. They also did a lot to toughen me up, not all of which was nice or polite. But, i don’t have any hard feelings against those who did bully me; see they made me the way I am. I’m not afraid of anything (except heights, but i was an ironworker so go figure), no matter what I will stand up for myself and have ZERO qualms with standing up for what is right. I don’t condone bullying, and will stop that *s-word quick, fast and in a hurry. But it also has a bit of a place. Bullies work 1 of 2 ways; make you stronger, tougher and more well grounded or make you a victim for the rest of your life. I flat out refuse to be a victim so it worked out for me. Not the same for everyone else.

We all need an antagonist in our life to teach is how to work through difficult times, how to keep your head during stressful situations and how to overcome the adversity.

Just my $0.02

PS: i saw the original note. That earned someone a throat punch

It is a huge misconception that it is always the small kid that gets picked one. Often it is the biggest, it was in Griffin’s case. Grade 5 he was at least 4” taller than anyone. He had also been taught that his size gave him the ability to hurt people and he always had to be careful of that. Truly was a gentle giant and I love him to death for it. There were times though that he wouldn’t challenge the guy under the hoop more and make him work for that shooting lane. Grade 10 6ft 2in 170lbs but I finally had to start paying him for fouls to get him to be more aggressive.

Now 22 and 6’6” about 270lbs not much intimidates him anymore. Knows when and where to use his size, thankfully usually for good.

I was also bullied because I was portly
The one guy would always flick my ears. I had enough so I swung my elbow and nailed him in the side of the face and knocked him out.
Teacher came in and asked what was going on
Got sent to principal office and got the speach of well you need to come to us before taking matters into your own hands
I told him I did and you did nothing so I did
I got sent home with a note to my parents thats it [emoji106].

About 15 years after school, I ran into the guy at our local watering hole. He'd lost 30 lbs and I'd gained 60 since we last talked. He was pretty nice that night
Lol I've had that happen a few times, but usually they don't recognize me.

He thought it was hilarious.
Good lol.
