We always settled our differences in the far parking lot behind school, or the bathroom. I've been knocked out exactly once and it was in that bathroom. Got sucker punched and my head knocked off the urinal while I was pissing. I probably deserved that one but I still went back for round two because that's what I was taught.

My children are taught to be kind and haven't had much trouble in school. If they EVER handed someone a card with that bullshít on it I'd hand them their ass. They also won't be bullied, not on my watch.

I agree, it cannot all be prevented. But, the school is responsible in some way. strict policy and no bullying awareness can make a difference. Expelling the kid might just deter the next a-hole. If not, expel the next one too. Eventually you will make a difference and create a safer environment. Doing nothing will make it worse. The school has a duty to do everything possible to prevent this imo.

Yes the school has a duty but when it really comes down to it EVERYONE has a part to play in putting an end to bullying.

For Griffin the most hurtful part was that none his “friends” stood up for him or tried to stop it.

The most effective end is peers standing up to each other and making sure they know it isn’t okay. A bully shunned from the “in” crowd doesn’t bully very long.
