Snappers is good if they're cooked right. Haven't had it in years though, an old guy on the hill where I grew up would have a party in the fall and cook them. Gotta keep them in clean water and feed them right for a few months he always said.
We'd keep them is a 55 gal drum and change the water out every day.
Grandpa always said to feed them watermelon to help clean them out.

Makes sense on the fresh water, DJ. Probably wasn't prepared right when I ate it. I haven't had it in years either.

I just gave this guy some watermelon this morning. I figured he probably needed some hydration in this heat.

It'd be cool to have a couple of those roaming around the yard. Probably shít less than the chickens. Lol

The old guy that used to own my farm put them in stock tank and feed them shelled corn for a week.

Morning All.

Awake earlier than I wanted. Mind racing about things I didn't finish at work before leaving.

Need to do some work cleaning up the garden. Bad year for radishes and lettuce, need to get that cleaned up then vacuum the pool and relax a bit. Headed for 90*+ today and all weekend.

Old "Tortellini" came to visit. We've got like five of these roaming around our yard and in the back field.

I save them from the roads and bring 'em home. It's a Greek Mountain Tortoise. They grow over a foot long.

My niece froze a watermelon
Said it was disgusting
I asked why freeze it?
Se said it needed to be
I asked why
She said because she bought it out of the back of a pickup truck
In 90 degree weather
I still don't understand why.

That’s how my father in law always did it to. He’d always leave em in there about week and change water daily as well.

You dug into one of the mounds of a giant human. Looks like a huge femur...

Did it go after it like this?
