Still looks like black oak. Part of the red oak fam.
I'd have to agree. Clint mentioned the points on the leaves. Makes sense it's some sort of red or black oak. There's a ton of variations, I'm sure some of the locals will have a name for it.

I'd have to agree. Clint mentioned the points on the leaves. Makes sense it's some sort of red or black oak. There's a ton of variations, I'm sure some of the locals will have a name for it.
I'm willing to bet it's black oak, but will do more research. Never used to give a fug really till I got the mill. Before that it was all firewood lol.

Maybe pin oak or Scarlett fugg I don't no live oak,blue oak,valley oak Oregon white

I like to know because of the time it takes to season. White or Burr dries guicker and I've burned tons of red oak seems to really hold onto the moisture the most. Been searching for whiter oaks been fortunate to be in a area where there are alot of choices.

It's not red, at least the red around here, I can look out the window and confirm the leaf pattern is a bit different.
