First sit down dinner out of town. Feel slightly human again. Quaker Steak and Lube was busy. Really nice not to have dinner in the hotel room.View attachment 244985 View attachment 244986

Im surprised they were open. I read that the were closing all locations.

So fellers, tell me about dis "turbo coffee" thing.
Saw some young fellers in the break room today. They had this little brewer thing. They whipped up some coffee about the color and consistency of molasses. Then they put it in this press lookin thing and pumped it a few times. Then they all poured a shot in a Styrofoam cup. Maybe something like espresso? I'm not a coffee junky. One cup of whatever swill I can find usually works to get my head un fugged in the mornings, and I'm good.

Likely a handpresso. A great tool for off grid espresso.

What should I drink...some Trudeau Ground Ass coffee like you Canadien homo’s?

I don’t really care, just expected something above bottom shelf. Try some fresh ground just about anything and it would be better. Not sure what is common there but that Folgers in your cup bs is disgusting...

I'm with Jarhead Jason.
We just use the Kuerig hot. Put the I cup in, close the lid, hit the up button once for the big cup, and I has coffee in less than 2 minutes. Maybe not the best stuff there is, but its quick when I'm running out the door to work.
I do like taking the old 10 cup stovetop percolator camping. That just seems like a better cup of coffee. Just let it sit for a minute to settle the grounds. Pinch of baking soda if youre in a hurry.

Sounds like a decent plan, just make sure you are using decent coarse grounds in the perc.

So I noticed there was a can of "cafe Bustelo" sitting on the table where they were making the espresso. Any good?

And if I said we took a can of Ingles(grocery chain) house blend coffee camping last trip, would I be lumped in with Jason?:D
It was pretty good for what it was, but everything tastes better outdoors, right?

And for you K cup guys... Get the $5 refillable cup from Wally World and fill it with what you like. I fill em with Dunkin coffees.

Cafe Bustelo has quite the following but I’ve never tried it. Gained popularity as there was a can on the counter of Leonard and Sheldon’s apartment in Big Bang Theory.

I don’t know Ingles at all but best thing for the perc is making sure it is a coarser grind. Too fine and it will be bitter.

I tell you one of the best kitchen gadgets I own is a Breville Smart Grinder. With the touch of a button or spin of a dial it easily adjusts the grind and amount of coffee for different brew methods.
