What a schitt show. My dad and brother were flying in last night; left CT and had a short layover in Charlotte, NC. The flight leaving CT was delayed because the plane was late coming from the midwest. They got to Charlotte and that plane was delayed coming in. Finally boarded the aircraft from at 2330 last night, sat on tarmac because the lock on the door was broken and had to be repaired. OAJ (Jacksonville, NC airport) closed while the aircraft was being repaired. So at 0035 they were told the flight was now cancelled. They got off the aircraft and checked with the airline and was told they had to find their own hotel to stay in and their new flight departs at 0935 this morning. I feel so bad for them getting all this runaround and then having to pay for a hotel while doing me the enormous favor of coming down to help me load the truck and drive back up.
