What kind of car?
So I can avoid buying one.

Its a 2008 Subaru Forester with 204k miles. Car started losing fuel economy and making a whining sound that matched speed, not rpm. I ruled out wheel bearings and rear diff. Hopefully it is something simple. My buddy has the car at his shop and will give us an official diagnosis.

That sucks. Does it have the 2.5 with a 4spd auto?
