Oh dat is no bueno. The one I just got was a tad over $400 shipped.
Mine was actually still working after it got wet. Water somehow got inside. I didnt use it for a few days, so I didnt find out til too late.
If you got on voltage with your ohm circuit, it could just be a bad fuse. Theyre pretty well protected.

I was checking voltage and shorted the hot lead. Fuses check out ok. Pretty sure it's farked, I tried a fresh battery. The digital readout taint workin too good blinking and stuff. I'll order a new one that one don't owe me nothing.

Last one I had(that some low life stole) was a freebie. One of our customers was throwing two of them away. One was fried. The other had a busted display. I got em and made one good one. What really sucked was I had just gotten a nice bag for it, along with new leads, and a magnatic lanyard. Those are shweet.

They're handy to set around the property.

Thats what we were doing with this one. Its been all over the place here. Bosslady sat it out near the back driveway with some flowers growing on it, and it rotted there.
It has the cast iron sides/legs, and also has a cast main backrest. Pretty nice bench. I'm gonna redo it with some White Oak or cedar, treat it, then put it out here by the fire pit. Have a nice cushion to go on it already.

Good Evening Todd. Ready to go and pressure wash daughter's house, but it started raining. Have to wait till tomorrow. This morning relocated another raccoon to the county park. More raccoons, squirrels and chipmunks this year than any other since we moved here 7 years ago.
