Always some last minute BS you did not know about. My bad. Learn new things each and everyday mfer.
Knew about this one broke mount. It showed up a few days ago testing a long bar. Checked three of the four and two are loosey goosey, not good. Should have removed the tank handle completely on the two that came as runners a month or three ago. JB is on tap here with panel bonds. Didn't really plan on the screw cup being mugged but why not, right?....
That was a back up tank in the pic with my spare mount. At least the screw and brass insert were with it. The cup was missing on that mount. Ordered more mounts... being shipped
Considering closing off the air bleed hole in the 660 top covers tonight for more air directed over the jug. They got hot last year without an exhaust pipe tuned around 11k. These are different power heads but the only difference is no chain brake or band. The intake and exhaust are different but mostly exhaust changes. Trying to stay near 12k on tune 10ish in the wood for 660's and 9k in the wood for 084's. Higher is ok lower is bad for 660's imo
Don't know what these new to me 084's will do in this heat. The other two haven't even been broke in yet or run. One is still all apart. The other is getting more mods first possibly a BB. Bigger better intake filter system and an exhaust pipe to a muffler mounted on the mill. The sub 70cc stuff has been ready to eat. Speaking of food...
Not a clue how the Dolkita 8400 will run or the 394. It was bone dry and hot Wednesday now it's muggy plus sweltering. Tested some bucking with 40-1 but swaping to 32-1 VP Syn with fresh Premium in all of um. Might get some VP or race gas from Griffins bike shop. Good stuffs to add in the brew
Tomorrows coming up fast
One more trailer full of chunks and pecker poles to drop off tonight after dinner. Then it's just cut and haul big slabs for a week or three.
The plan is to push this new batch of saws 80cc+ all weekend and next week is temps 95+, heat index 105+ Good to run saws and really know if they're ready for commercial service on a mill. For me, not so much. The portable canopy gets set up first over the truck and the second over the log end maybe. Send me umbrella hats. Three of the milling sites have hot tubs and pools waiting for me. Two have nice cool lakes right there. I did it right this year
