Gents, i’m not one to ask but I feel I need to. Gonna need some prayers.

My buddy i’ve known since high school had a mishap with a tree last night. He is a home improvement contractor and does firewood on the side. He was working on a good sized maple with a broken main leg that was still attached and resting against the ground. He cut it, the main broke free and hit him and then the trunk fell onto the downed branch and bounced up and hit him again. As of now he is in ICU awaiting surgery.

Fractured skull, broken facial bones, his nose is basically hanging on by a little bit around his nostrils, left eye out of socket, broken jaw, 2 broken vertebra in his neck, dislocated shoulder, broken clavicle, broken scapula, 6 broken ribs.

He got hit, picked up his saws, climbed into his truck, drove down to the house, parked the truck and walked inside and sat down in a chair. He had no idea how bad off he was. One TOUGH bastid.

I’ve been here since early cleaning up all the blood off the porch, the inside/outside of his truck and the equipment so the kids wouldn’t see it all.

He is the sole earner in his household with 3 kids (2 girls and a boy) and no telling how long he will be out of work. Not asking for money, just some thoughts and prayers.

The interesting part will be how long. When my boss had an accident in his he was in a loaner for 6 months. Hopefully parts are more common now.

Had the same thing happen with tje long wait time years ago Gary. Someone backed the business end of their boat into my wifes Jeep. The body shop kept it 3 months. Did a REALLY nice job on it though..

Keep us posted Curt. Seems a lot of prayers have been needed lately. Hoping he comes out of this pretty soon. Probably brain swelling from the head knocks. Takes a little bit for it to get bad. Thats how he was able to drive himself home. It can subside and be ok with a little time.
