F'd up about the two dam failures up there...

We're surrounded by water. The water levels are at record highs and the shore is eroding away alone Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. House have fallen into Lake Michigan and people have part of the lake as a backyard now.

luckily my house sits a little higher than some. Down the street the houses right on the lake were about 75-100 yards from Lake St. Clair now some are less than 25ft

Yeh, I worked a summer job for a friend as a painter when I was a kid. That was before they had the Kilz 2, which is latex based, and doesnt destroy your respiratory system in 3.2 seconds. I cut in and rolled it in an 8' x 12' room with no window and only one door , and I'm still as fugged up as I was before. No more, no less. I sprayed the small stuff last night with Rustoleum 2X rattle cans. Had those out in the shop. Made a pass or two and quickly realised I forgot my respirator. Dats some bad chit! I smoke, so thats enough wrong to be doin to my lungs.

You got it bassakwards all the tar from smoking protects your lungs from the really bad stuff.

Just did that Sunday. Had a 300lb heifer not wanting to go to the corral and it pissed me off enough that I jumped on it from the 4 wheeler, wrestled it down in the mud and tied it up in the middle of the field. Used the tractor to bring the trailer to her and drug her inside it. She watches me all the time I am out for some reason now.

I once whacked a Limosine Bull square on the point on top of his skull with a 9 iron as hard as I could swing it because he kept scattering the round bales I was trying to put out before I could cut the twines. The head fell off the club, and he just cut his eyes up at me like "whut you tawkin about Willis?". Then he proceeded to scatter the bale I had just set down. Said fugg it. I'll just clean up after him. Him and the Hereford mixes we had made good calves.

Ever had to pick up a calf you just pulled by the back legs and shake it to get the fuid out of its lungs so it can breath? Thats a unique sensation when you grab the back legs and that "slime" squishes out and runs down to your elbows.

Floods are some dangerous *s-worde. Stay safe, I’ll be thinking about you and your neighbours. That’s a bad situation you have going on up there.

Ever had to pick up a calf you just pulled by the back legs and shake it to get the fuid out of its lungs so it can breath? Thats a unique sensation when you grab the back legs and that "slime" squishes out and runs down to your elbows.

Pulled several calves over the years. Fun times when you are shirtless in the cold with cow manure running down your chest. Seems to take forever to get rid of the smell. Then hanging the calf to drain fluid and hoping for the best.
