Awesome. My favorite kinda trucks. That's a great set-up too. Do you have a gooseneck hitch in the bed or do you just haul with ball hitch trailers?

It's a gooseneck, but I mostly do bumper hitch towing. Thank you for the kind words about the truck. I'm only the 3rd owner of it.

Evening monkeys. Daughter Katie and I kicked back, watched Solo on Netflix...not a bad movie, worth watching. Son Jared didn’t make it over today, out chasing tail this evening and tonight...go figure.
I watched a little bit of the Mandalorian on the Disney channel free with Verizon wireless for the Roku. It's pretty good.

I know pretty much what parts this takes but what's the real world advantage?

Availability of 395 parts, Husqvarna has a kit that's fairly affordable. If you have everything you need for your 394 then not much to worry over, quad ports and a boot for less vibes/heat to the carbeltater is about it.

Excellent!!
I thought I might take mine along tomorrow or Monday. Got a six foot silver maple trunk to whittle up.
Put a pretty aggressive hand file on it, and it ran it like a champ. Pretty darn impressed really. Thank you again DJ it's a great saw.

Not necessary, just glad it went to a good home. I now have a NOS piston tucked away in the cupboard.

Stock the 395 has better acceleration and top end, but the 394 is better down low and runs a longer bar with more authority in my experience.

When modded (by someone with a good recipe), the 395 really shines. I've built a couple modded 394s that were real brutes though. One had an
Ace Morgan cylinder on it with a new Meteor piston and rings and an RWJ-4 carb. I installed a pulse nipple in the intake block.
