I ain’t never had a head shot, or just below the tater neck shot depending on how they stop, ever leave the scene of the crime. All about the personal skills I suppose.

He took off bleed thru 2 bean fields died in a hay field 800 yards straight shot nothing but blood in his traks.

That’s a tight shot shooting a shaft. I’d a done the same decision/thing if he was wall material.

I shot a doe in the head at 40ish yards with the inline. She backflipped and was DRT, pretty much a chip shot for that gun. I don't make a habit of it but 225gr Powerbelts get the job done.

The preferred meat method for me is a shot gun. 12 or 10ga rifled slug to the head. No fuse no mush.
Or, 22 mag or 222, don't be shy, just whistle and in the eye. Anyway you look at it there is no tracking anything including groundhogs.

Don't bust both shoulders, shot the head. Eyes don't move around too damn much.
