I'm sure you and guys like @Mastermind and others complaining about rain don't want to hear this but I heard on the radio on the way to work that we came within an 1/8" of breaking a 150 year old record for wettest September on record. I'm done with wet for a while.

Dang. We've had one of the driest. The dirt actually looks like brownish red talcum powder. Dusty and hard to keep out of the house with all the wind we've had.

My travels this morning took me past this site. Only about 45 minutes from my house.

Wish I could zoom and read what the marker says...can anyone make it out?
I guess I should have taken a closer pic but it was something about they moved a bunch of Indians to one spot and reburied them. I'm going to Google it now as I'm waiting on the farmer to get done feeding these cows

Just read an archive article on this mound...interesting. Around the Adena/Hopewell (500 bc - 400 ad) culture periods. Don't know if you guys remember my old Arrowhead Thread in Off Topic Area, but I've got several Adena-style and Hopewell-style points we've found over the many years.

We're truly the opposite, having a hard time keeping the wet leaves that have fallen from getting tracked in to the house. At this rate our trees will be bare in a week.
