I was going to say earlier, the bodies and frames here usually last twice as long as what you mentioned and people usually go through two motors and trannys because of the heat. just my guess anyway, in order to reach 300-400k
Yeah probably true. Wife's Tahoe had 280 on it when we traded it. Motor was perfect. Body was still really good surprisingly. Trans still good. And I can now change a fuel pump in 45 minutes

Don't get suckered into the "pump only" kits on amazon and ebay for $20. They last between 10-40k miles. Ac Delco or Delphi complete units for between $100 and $300 are good

Thanky, We have a good mechanic next to the water office. Does stuff right for cheaper than we can crawl under them for.

yes dont get the non name brand ones they last maybe a year
My daughter has an 06 cobalt. Plastic lines coming out of the tank were known to crack in hot climates. Her car was from Alabama. GM had a recall in most southern states, but not Alabama because the Gulf was a moist climate. And there supposedly weren't any problems in Alabama lol.

So...she smelled gas one day. Sure enough, cracked lines. I replaced the whole unit. A month later, the car wouldn't run for chit. 35 psi fuel pressure. Car needed 45+ to run. I dropped the tank, put the old pump back on with the new lines. Problem fixed

Must......resist.........

There's more American parts and labor in a jap car nowadays than the big 3 I think. I'm just not there yet

Last Honda accord I bought new in 04 was like 60/40 US/Jap.

Mostly being the transmission IIRC.

Wife filed a claim on it 7 years later, adjusters exact words were: "best car on the road"
