My father in law was telling me about how much beef prices have dropped. I'm sure that means grain and hay prices will go through the roof.We went to the livestock auction yesterday. It was sad seeing people have to sell because of this drought.
I saw one starved cow sell for 100.00.
I bought a pair of nice Angus heifers in one lot for .84 a pound. And another one that was a bit lean for .59
Less than 1100.00 I spent. A year ago those same animals would have sold for about 4000.00.
Farmers can't catch a break.
