We went to the livestock auction yesterday. It was sad seeing people have to sell because of this drought.

I saw one starved cow sell for 100.00.

I bought a pair of nice Angus heifers in one lot for .84 a pound. And another one that was a bit lean for .59

Less than 1100.00 I spent. A year ago those same animals would have sold for about 4000.00.
My father in law was telling me about how much beef prices have dropped. I'm sure that means grain and hay prices will go through the roof.

Farmers can't catch a break.

That really is a significant amount cheaper isn't it that really astonishes me

When prices were sky high everyone with a fence bought cows thinking they were gonna get rich. That ended up flooding the market with calves a year later.

Now we have a bad drought going on here, so cattle prices are in the tank.

There was a guy there sitting a little ways down from me that was watching his calves sell. He was pretty upset. He kept talking about the price of implements and fertilizer not going down. He was spot on. The only price that has dropped is the price of beef on the hoof.

Farmers never can catch a break.

If you don't believe me, just ask one.

You guys can really pile the pages on took me awhile to catch up. We have thrown the idea about cows or some other livestock like pigs. But we can put in a order from falmouth which is not to far away paid $1.29 hanging weight for a whole hog last spring. That will see us through till next year.

Kevin you finally got then hooskvarnas running? I member you struggling at the gtg
Yea. I think. Just the 394 with a warm start issue. With a long bar, it's nearly impossible, but if I pull the choke out, hold the trigger wfo, and drop start it, it takes between 3 and 10 pulls and it'll start

That's the life of a cattle person. Nature has a vote on what you get to do with them.

I'm working on cleaning house. I've got a bunch of project saws and parts that I'll be listing as I get pictures taken.

If any of you guys are interested in anything hit me up before I list em.

359 tank, recoil and top cover

350 recoils, top covers and tanks

36/41/136/141 too covers, recoils, tanks, cases.

A clean 009 with a almost brand new Stihl bar and chain. I got this from a dealer and the tag says it needs a new carb.

Pioneer P51. 130psi, and spark. I pulled the muffler off and there is slight scoring though
