Man there a good running car and fast I paid 10000 for mine 8 years ago and at the time it was cheaper than the trucks I was looking at. And I mean same miles and year.

i paid 800.00 for mine 3 years ago had 123,000 miles on it.

here is what my set up looks like on my truck it has a 302 v8 water pump on the front and the timing cover on the back the top 3 water pump bolts snapped off flush.

I found frisbees for 10 cents a piece and bought 50 of them hes destroyed them all when your done throwing he destroys lol

one word of advice put some better heads on it instead of those factory smog heads it will run better.

I got lucky 781 heads ! big ovals not those peanut port heads that flow less than sbc heads

The truck original had a 305 and the guy trying to get it run ( timing chain jumped) dumped enough gas down the carb when I drained the oil there was close to 7 quarts in there instead of 4

those 454 seem to run a bit better running a 650 cfm carb compared to a 750.
if you can get the axles set up to 3:21 like some of the c20 trucks and run a tall tires you can get 14 mpg highway.

That is the way to do it. My dog will run a frizbee into the ground and fold it in half on the way back. Chuck it balls seem to hold up pretty good for fetch. He just destroys toys if allowed to just chew em.

Check the main bores, those are notorious for being out of align.

Comp 268 cam sounds mean in a 454, air gap dual plane and a 750 is a sweet combo for a street 4x4.

That is how I built the one I had, 781 heads. Sold it to a buddy who put it in his 78 k20. 4.10s and 35's. Thing runs pretty well. Sub 10 seconds in the 1/8th mile. Has enough stretch to run low range. Pissed off a lot of the diesel guys lol.

Be warned though, it will find the next weak link. 2 built th350's and 3 dana 44 front's lol

He had to go to a th400 and dana 60 front

1 cup of kerosene to every gallon it will smell a little funny but work just fine.

I just throw some Diesel fuel in mine.

Them little peanut port heads run good with a little work to them. They make a ton of torque that is great in a truck.
