Stroll on the beach after dinner last night. Almost makes me miss living on the water
I miss living in New Bern...enjoyed the hell out of living on the coast. Used to takes the 4-wheelers/dirt bikes to Radio Island below Morehead City and Atlantic Beach...cut up like hell.

Any of u snake experts know what kind of snake this is? I don't have a picture of his head because i mashed it in the ground with the shovel.View attachment 139665

Killed him right by the steps of my house

Kind of looks like a good size kingsnake. They usually hang out in places like barns, cribs and the like. The kill rats, venomous snakes, eggs and birds. If it is a kingsnake, they are generally considered good and folks like having them around.

It probably gave you quite a fright, huh?

Well I'll have to admit I did take a step or two back but my biggest concern is my 6 month old like to go out and sit in the grass not to far from there the only reason I killed it if he was in my barn I would have let him go. I didnt think he was poisonous but also ain't talking any chances.

The head looked similar to that.

Did his tail flicker like a rattler?

No tail didn't flicker or it wasn't green like it was a baby copper head.
