The RPM stuff is really good, and is stronger than the stock stuff.
Agree Mike...everything I’ve read on forums, etc, the RPM hop-ups are much better than stock nylons. I’d like to take these all billet machine aluminum on the chassis, but the flex isn’t there to absorb impacts, etc. We’ll eventually upgrade about four components to billet aluminum, like the Slash 4x4 Ultimate, and add GTR shocks...but not going to go the route of billet aluminum bulkheads, shock towers, a-arms, etc. Too much to permanently bend in those areas with no give.

You messed with any funny fuel or stick to batteries?
Used to run nitro planes and trucks back in the 80’s...still fly scale warbird planes but all LiPo battery stuff now. Haven’t ran R/C vehicles in a long time...the vehicles have definitely changed over the years. These Traxxas 4x4’s running 2S 7600 mAh batteries on 25C discharge are a damn handful. We can run for a solid 45 mins before LiPo batt swaps. By that time you’re more than ready for beer number six or eight. I’ve got plenty of LiPo 3S 11.1v batts from the planes, but not going to run the 3S in the trucks...changes everything running 3S...brushless motor and ESC are guaranteed to overheat without bigger heatsinks and cooling fans. 2S is plenty fast enough around 45-50 mph. 3S will push them to 70+ mph...backyard ain’t that damn big. Lol

Lol yep aluminum isn't always best. At least you know it before blowing lots of cash.

Hey did you ever run a walbro sdc 80 on any of your planes? If you have one sitting around I would be happy to buy it.

Did y’all ever upgrade from 12mm hex stubs for wheels to 17mm on the Slash? I don’t think the 12mm will last with these ProLine Badlands 2.8’s. Of course we’ll have to get 17mm wheels and I’ll un-glue the beaded tires and re-use the foam inserts that are on these 12mm hex wheels.

Next upgrade will be MIP solid steel driveshafts/CVD’s. These Traxxas nylon ones ain’t gonna get it with this red/black truck on 2S LiPo with these wheels running the hell out of it, much less anything 3S.

I need to check and see what it's set up with. Honestly did pay a lot of attention to it. It has big wheels on it from a bigger model, but I can't remember the name. Nothing has broke yet, so everything is good so far.

It was worth a shot lol. How are you feeling Jason?
I’m getting better everyday Mike. Working today was a little more taxing than I thought it’d be, but I’m regaining my energy as long as I take it slow. I ain’t never had nothing just suck the energy and strength out of me like that damn pneumonia...Stump Shot Steve said it best in a conversation we had about a week ago...that pneumonia ain’t got but one goal and one goal only...and that’s to kill you! I’m 51 and I see now why it takes some folks weeks to get back to 100%. And I understand fully how it can kill the elderly without question.

I think the red RPM a-arms look pretty sweet on the chassis. I can tell from dropping the truck chassis from 2-3 feet off the ground and letting it hit on all four tires, these a-arms are a definite improvement from the stock a-arms.

@Time's Standing Stihl ...Clint, these are the warbirds I fly the most. T-28 Trojan, P-47 Thunderbolt, FW-190, and SuperMarine Spitfire. They all fly like they’re on rails...the Spitfire being the toughest to handle because of the wing loading and dihedral of the wing. T-28, P-47, FW-190 have 44” wingspans, SuperMarine Spitfire has a 48” wingspan. Taking off is easy, getting ‘em back on the ground is a little tougher...especially with the bigger Spitfire. You gotta damn near drive it in as fast as you fly it, if too slow it’ll tip stall and roll...real quick-like. Gotta keep some air underneath that wing no doubt...ask me how I know and how many wings I’ve been through. It’s got a real narrow retractable landing gear, about like a Messerschmidt ME/BF-109...it’s a MF’r to land with any crosswind. After about 15-20 mins in the air with it, you’re ready to land, set the radio down, and grab another cold one.
