I gots one too. I also keep an eye on the bay for old tooling, some of that stuff was made well enough your great grandchildren will still be using it after you're long gone. One oldie mounts in the tool holder and has a pointer with graduations in .001" only moves like ten thou, but is still accurate to measure deflection to this day.
I've picked up some good stuff from a local guy that was reasonable. The guy has loads of tooling and carbide.

I also use a Shars gauge that moves an inch and reads .001. The Asian reads in .01mm, which is .0004
