Good evening fellas. I spent the day with a world war 2 vet. We worked on his old garden tractor and took a trip to a really cool dealership for parts.

There were 4 old farts shooting the breeze around a wood stove. You just don't see that around here anymore.

We had a good day and we got his antique Bolens just about ready for another winter of plowing.

Things are good, Mike. Putting up a steel building, tinkering on saws,...how bout you?
I'm good. Just kicking back a bit. Gotta start getting ready for the winter. I still haven't lit the furnace yet. I need to clean it out first. Hopefully this weekend I can get a bunch of thing marked done on my to do list.

I built a fire in the garage yesterday while I was out there. Mostly cardboard boxes I had laying around. Took the chill off. House is propane, so it comes on a few times a day

I don't have anything for heat in my shop. I got a decent wood stove from a buddy to put in there but I haven't had time to hook it up.
I have a wood/oil combo furnace for the house. It's a pig! Gotta clean and inspect the chimney and fire box first before I lite it. Hopefully I'll get it going this weekend

Mines been limping along for about a month now lol.

Seal is shot in the door, have water temp turned down to 150 off. Temp will creep up to 180 ish before it cycles.

Need to retrofit a blower to the door, and a new seal. Natural draft isn't cutting it with the gf tending the fire...

Mine is a forced air wood furnace. Char Master or something like that. Went out of business and there are zero parts or info available on them. Previous owner removed the firebrick in the front next to the door and there's a hairline crack there that's pushed out a half inch, making the door not seal. I hit it with a sledge about 20 times and got it pushed back in and welded it up, but a hot fire pushes it right back out again. Oh well, been like that for 20 years and hasn't burned anything down yet.
