Our newspaper said over 9000 firefighters with crews using over 1000 fire engines are battling the blazes.

Major effort, they will get a good hold at some time.
Windy here, maybe a break coming up in the next few days.
I've done the fire thing in country like that, Lake, Colusa, Yolo, Mendo, Sonoma counties.
Grass, heavy brush and crappy oaks with some DF or pines.
Fast moving, very hot, give me a timber fire anytime.
