After my friends funeral I've been outside tearing down and cleaning the next 288 i'm building.
Nice low hour saw never been apart.

No the 266 isn't done, I'm still gathering parts. In the next day or two I will build the bottom end. That 288 is going to be great.

You can blast with baking soda and it don't hurt chrome or glass.

I've heard of that Mike. I wonder how baking soda would work in one of those cheap harbor freight blasting cabinets?

It would work just fine, it's pretty cool how it don't hurt chrome or glass. I saw a demo on it years ago at a Good Guys car show.

It would be nice for cleaning up cylinders. I bead blasted a few at work but you have to be careful of the plating.

when i was 7 demon would walk with me to the bus stop over a half mile away and he knew when to meet me when i got off the bus.
Usually piled up snakes he killed near his dog house lol

Wasn't too bad. .006" from the exhaust to the right side. But it was tapered to .010" right at the corner of the base






.010" got it all though. Took some out of the band to get squish right

That's what I read about this. I'll dry it good and paint or oil the parts.

White vinegar did an amazing job on some very old axe heads i soaked them for two days.
They looked new.

I'm ok. Damn concrete saw took a dump today. It quit while idling, which was weird. Wouldn't start back up, and I could hear what I thought was something on top of the piston. Then it wouldn't turn over. Bearing retainer chunk was pounded into the band. I had all the stuff to re do it though. Bearings, seals, rings and gaskets. Did that this afternoon and just got in from straightening Clint's 064 jug
