I finally get to contribute to this glorious thread.

All Bourbons are whiskeys, all Ryes are whiskeys but no Bourbon is a Rye. Some Ryes are technically bourbons but we Canadians would never admit that to anyone...

Hmmm, I'll give that a try. I have seen it at the local store, but I never gave it much thought cause I am not a big fan of Crown

For me normal Crown has a real sweetness to it that I don't like. The Northern Harvest is a completely different taste. It's distilled about an hour from here and next to impossible to get locally.

I don't drink much whiskey in the summer. This year has been about the vodka cocktails. Had some Titos Handmade Vodka when I was in Dallas in June and fell back in love with vodkas.

I'm having Jim Beam, another reason it's on the rocks. My favorite is Woodford Reserve, very smooth. Knob Creek, Makers Mark are good too.
