colton how long of a bar and was this the one that was grabby ?
No that chain is filed to death now. That one I just posted was on a 24" bar. I broke an Oregon 73lg about 7 years ago on a 395. I guess you'll have that from time to time. Wasn't even grabby today when it broke.

Gotta love that flimsy Oregon chain.

I broke one at custer's gtg a month ago. 24" RS about half used up. Pretty sure I'd hit the straps on the blind side while square filing it though

Sounds good, but how will you lean it out if H side is seated ? Is this the simi adjustable jet iv'e heard about on the 590?

Swap out the jet. I covered it in the build thread.

I don't know how people have been burning these saw up i see them on ebay all the time I've had mine turned almost all the way in and it was still 4 stroking they have a bypass don't they.View attachment 50635

Lean limiter settings, if you lean the low side out a bunch it will Lean th high out.

Lean ish tune and dull chain 50:1 is what kills em.

If you need a bar for a 590 home depot had the 20 inch factory bar for 25.00 i run husky bars on mine have a pile of them they are a little loose but oil great i just cut the chain down a link or two i run the crap out of mine 40-1 red armor
Is there any advantage to the husky bar over the 590 bar besides oiling?

I tried square filling before. I can make them cut but it wouldn't be beneficial for me. Seems to take allot of time to get them rite. Then you rock them.... I'll stick to a 7/32 or 13/64.

I absolutely agree with you. 2 swipes and you're back cutting without thinking about it

I'll check out that build thread. Do you mix 40-1 for your saws?

Back when they were good bars. The last half a dozen or so I've used didn't last worth a crap. The rails got sloppy way to fast.
These are from early 80s i bought every one he had.
I think that's what he said he used to sell Johnny's i know one thing im still on my first bar no wear after a few months tough bars.
