I am spending the day with the grandson today because it is spring break.

We went out to the chicken coop this morning and did some chores, then he says “could we make a robot?”

Say no more!

Liam dug around in the spare parts filing cabinet (known as the Magic Bolt Box) and found pieces to construct a robot king!

He must have a crown, a sword, a claw hand and roller feet.

He picked the parts, I stuck em together. Arms move. Crown spins. He turns at the waist. Feet roll.

Mission accomplished.

Good morning. It got nasty overnight, had some minor power line damage on lines we own but it's too windy to fix so we're running the generator to power the barn. House still has power. Reports of a tornado locally and someone for their entire roof taken off and deposited on the airport runway, no death's reported yet.

Or maybe an extended vacation to a Gulf state in Hurricane season, Midwest in tornado season, UP in winter, California for wildfire season. Maybe a gratuitous thunderstorm, flooding. hail or ice. See the immediate storm related disappearance of whole milk and white bread. He'll miss the excitement of checking the weather or getting on an airplane.
