Diesel is a byproduct of producing gasoline, so it SHOULD be cheaper than gasoline always - but it hasn’t been less in a long time..

Fair enough. That makes more sense than the “supply and demand” line I’ve been told before - since you can’t have gasoline without first making diesel. So this makes more sense.
