Just pulled the deck off the cub cadet to replace the blades. New blades didn't have the same center hole pattern. So i sharpened the original ones and put them back on. Slacking in progress now.
Where did the blades come from?

Not quite as graphic as VPs, but this Cummins20240515_142738.jpg20240515_142744.jpg20240515_142755.jpg20240515_142924.jpg came back from internal reman and promptly made a noise.
I wasn't there for all the teardown but I know the timing cover holes shouldn't be sheared off or elongated, the idler bolts should be one piece, not two, and the inspection cover shouldn't really be holding the idler pulley in...

Worst one I’ve seen! I’ll get a picture of what’s left of the pinion tomorrow. View attachment 419633View attachment 419634View attachment 419632
What is the cause of the failure? Was the driver under 20 years old? In my youth - have broken u-joints till they were upgraded. Then several times scattered the rear end all over the highway in a built 66 Mustang. But that was abuse, full power, power shifting first to second. And not enough money to upgrade the rear ends.
