Odd time of the year for a fair, do the sheep have their winter coats on?
It was part of the Arctic Winter Games which winds up tomorrow

They use any and every excuse to fire up the food trucks, carnival rides, and sell handcrafted garbage

Momma likes that kind of thing and I hadn't eaten today so was willing to give the BBQ a try

Yuck

Edited to add: I knew there weren't any sheep there so I wore my low cut boots

Just saying

Your full of *s-word if you say you never smoked pot.
You must know the old timers on this thread aren't *f-wording stupid.

It’s the way things seem to be these days. It seems like every 6 months I replace the igniter on our gas dryer. Every year I replace the igniter in the furnace and that thing only runs a half dozen times a winter.

After 2.5 decades of tree work I can confirm this. And the more guys on the crew the shorter the saws lives seem to be. But that saw probably paid for itself 100 times over.

You know this but most fellers don’t realize that chainsaws are the cheapest motorized equipment on a tree job.

For refrigerators all of them are junk compared to the older ones. LG and Samsung are the worst, but most aren’t lasting more than 4-5 years anymore. That is if they don’t shít the bed in months. Usually the compressor. Hopefully you bought the longest warranty you could.

Our Samsung is going on 10 years now and it was supposedly the most reliable, according to consumers reports, at the time. I’ve had to fix the water supply solenoid twice, replace the defrost timer for both the freezer side and refer side, and relocate the defrost heat sensor. The defrost heat sensor and water fill solenoid were within a month after the fridge was delivered. The quality has only gone downhill since on them.

Back in the day you could expect a fridge to last 20 years and maybe only replace a defrost timer on them once.

@Oddsandends if you’re going to a trade school you could do a lot worse than HVAC school. Take any and all appliance repair courses they offer and pay close attention to how to diagnose electronics problems. You will be thousands ahead just fixing your own junk on top of making bank at your day job.
Just praying that the LG stuff we have keeps going. Bought a full kitchen suite in 2006? 7 maybe.
Fridge, stove, dishwasher, and a microwave/range hood.
So far, the fridge is still solid.
Dishwasher has never given any problems(but we dont use it that much).
The oven control on the stove went teets up twice and damn near burned the house down...twice. range top still works perfectly.
I fixed the door on the microwave a year or so ago. Plastic got brittle from the repetitive nuking i guess.
About 6 months ago it fell off again, so replaced with a Frigidaire unit.
Had a Whirlpool Cabrio washer. The boy wouldnt empty his pockets, so the change went into the sump and got into the pump. Spilt the plastic housing. Theres no way to get small items out of the sump, so i just JB welded the "spare" pump housing and swapped out when it inevitably happened...again.
The main board died on that one.
We have another one that our niece gave us that we just use for my greasy work clothes. So far, no issues with that one, but i clean out my pockets before i toss my rags in to be cleaned...
Currently have a Frigidaire washer/dryer combo that is about as old-school as we could find. Top load washer under a front load dryer. Space-saver style.
No complaints so far.

I've got mismatched appliances, but we don't really care.
Washer- Maytag top load purchased May 1985, repairs None. Would like to have the super high speed spin, maybe with the next one.

Dryer -Whirlpool front load from 1988. Replaced the drum wheel and felt set once.

Refrigerator - Majic chef from 1989, bought at Banks, they were a clearance/overstock seller. 1 Repair so far, replaced the freezer defrost timer, Pain in the arsh, did it myself. About ready for replacement door seals as there are cracks showing in a couple of area.

Stove, 20+yrs old Jenn-air. Oven ignitor hot surface ignition replaced once, $7 part and 10 minute job.

Probably been lucky on the service length of our appliances. I'm not looking forward to buying any of the newer stuffs that have planned obsolesce built in instead of quality.
Yeah. Be prepared for disapointment if you need to replace ANY of those.
Best bet is look online for repair parts and keep that old stuff going.
New stuff is ALL junk and made to replace every 5 years or so.

But you don't threaten people and act like a hard ass either...

My dad told me when I was young if you ever get to the point where you threaten someone with a gun or pull one out you better have the balls to use it..they might call my bluff..
What you said.
Im still praying that ill die of somewhat natural causes before i have to do that, because if somebody ever gets to the point that i take it out, it will unfortunately be used.
A gun is a last resort that ive worked very hard to not resort to.
If you want to scrap, i dont mind at all.
I guess those days are gone.
Used to be able to settle things with your fists and go on with your business.
