Good morning fellas. Another pleasant early December day here at our homestead. 28 to 36 for today.
While you are here Ed(@redline4), have you played with an 06 Acura AT5 transmission before? Got in-laws sitting here with shifting problems and trying to decide to try drain and fill with new filter and 3/4 shift pressure switches before the brother in law takes it to a transmission shop. Don't want them to have to dump a metric crap ton of money in a transmission if it is not worth it. It's mainly for the MIL but the younger daughter and husband are paying the bills on it. Got to feed the girls and hit the road now. Those vibrating dent pullers aren't going to deliver themselves.
Battery was discharged and it reset the codes. My reading up on it seems like the pressure switches go bad and then it starts 3rd gear slippage. Too much of that will burn the clutches. In '07 they added a second 3rd gear pressure switch, so they knew it was a problem. Checked solenoids for operation and they seem to be fine. Be cheaper than what a diagnostic would be and it's one of those things, do I try and hope it works at least for a while or do we bite the bullet and send it to a transmission shop.I have zero experience with Acura transmissions, so I'm really no help other than if it's setting any dtc's that are "electrical" related, fluid change won't help.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the filter can only be serviced when the cases are split apart. All GM FWD transmissions are that way, have been for a while.
If I'm reading your post correctly I'm guessing there's an issue with a pressure switch? In the GM world that either means a stuck valve in the valve body, bad internal switch or wiring.
lol liarGood morning men, I promise, I won't do it again. Lol
Happy Monday.
We had one until 86I remember we had a black and white TV when I was a kid.
Yes, and Red’s too.White oak ?
I think the “Trade Me” light just came on.Battery was discharged and it reset the codes. My reading up on it seems like the pressure switches go bad and then it starts 3rd gear slippage. What was his name you went to seeStorm from yesterday made a real mess. I've got white pine needles on the hood of my car. There isn't a white pine within 100 yards of where it was parked.
Well yeah, after missing Monday morning Bingo and coffee down at the cafe. He’s gonna be grumpy when he gets back
Gfy lolWhat was his name you went to see
Yeah I was watching the game and the stadium was still sunny for about 5 minutes after it started hailing at my place. Pathetic football game if you watched it.No hail here but did get thunder n lightning, in Dec. Saw that the Steeler game was stopped twice. You guys got worse than norther here. Tree guys probably busy today.
I hated to see him drop 2k on a saw that was probably going to be overkill for most of his work.He loves it. He needs to put a shorter bar on it. That 32" is too unwieldy. Especially for his height. 24 or 28 would be better. It runs nice and is strong. I assume it will only get stronger. Good choice for him. I know he was thinking 500i originally, the 572 is a better choice just from a fuel perspective. Not as thirsty.
Cue Dallas asking what size boat....
Meh. It wasn't bad at all. I'm going try to take a nap to let the meds wear on off.Randy’s probably having a ton of fun right about now, getting his teeth ported.
Good to hear!Meh. It wasn't bad at all. I'm going try to take a nap to let the meds wear on off.
Dentist said it went well, the crack ended at the gum line, so he thinks I'll be keeping this tooth for a long time.
