My wife of 34 years wants another dog, we are dogless right now.
With my health issues right now i say it is not the right time.
If she wants a dog all she has to do is walk to the front door and whistle.
Anywhere between 2 and 6 dogs will appear, all are well mannered and will sit on the couch with her anytime.
They know she always has dog treats for them.
2 pitts, 1lab, 1german shorthair, 1golden retriever, 1 border collie
and some kind of big foxhound. All are a few neighbors dogs.
Why do we need a dog we feed all these anyway. When the owner of 2 of them needs to see his dogs he just texts me to tell them to come home.

When she starts bothering me about a dog i just let the dog pack in the house for a few minutes and she drops the subject.

Spent the afternoon with my FIL’s widow this afternoon and let me tell you Watson the dog we thought we were going to end up with has become her best friend and has really helped her since Keith’s passing. Don’t completely discount the idea of getting one later in life.
