Funny/interesting about the bluejay pump call.
Somehow the ones here make more of a "purttle-geet" racket when they do it.
Interesting how birds tend to develop localized calls.
The ones here always seemed to use that call for locating others and staging a raid on fruit trees.
Typically would be groups of five jays, two across the street in tall trees and the rest of them in back yard. All of them taking rotation on pecking the fruit.
You couldn't even sneak out the front without that loud alarm call from one of the sentries.
No fruit trees anymore, but still see it done for acorns in the oaks.

The first one took quite a while but once one trusted me the rest did 🤷‍♂️ They even make a certain sound and when I hear that sound I know I can turn around and see one looking at me trying to get my attention lol
I know that sound. They really complain when the feeder is empty.

They are corvids after all and are smart, ravens and crows too but especially ravens they make all kinds of unique and weird sounds I heard a new one I never heard before just the other day

Yeah, the Jurassic Park aspect of the Corvid packs is fascinating and could get almost creepy for the planning.
When I was still trying to grow a few peppers etc, I was out in the yard enough to notice the crows truly seemed to be telling which way they were set up in a tree.
Got so that I felt I recognized a few calls related to couple of their preferred perches.

I seen a "Biggern" (Is that even a word?) during ML season, but it was a WAY DOWNHILL shot from me (11km/ 8cm° angle for you Larry).
Just wasnt comfortable taking a shot.
He crossed thru the crosshairs twice (10-12 point).

This one is big for around here. I have to wait until it is cool enough to hunt. Too hot in November, wtf? Supposed to be near 80 on Thursday. Two more weeks until rifle. Might be cold enough then.

I saw more deer in the pouring rain this year tho, than I ever have before!
