About a month ago my oldest nephew decided to get himself a brodonkulated 04 Duramax.
I just got a text from my sister asking how much work head gaskets are in it.

When I was an engine machinist in my mid-20’s, I milled quite a few DuraMax cylinder heads… Those aluminum heads just can’t take the abuse IMO.

There's 3 gaskets based off of the piston to deck height measurement.
Can't see the markings to I.d. them until they are pretty much in your hands.
The brodozerers have the heads milled, then slap in the thickest gaskets.
It's just how they roll. Coal. Yo.
