So my little town of 470 people might lose our volunteer ambulance service… Nobody wants to volunteer these days anymore. Can’t get anyone new to take pride in the community and step up to help. Truly sad..

We had a town hall meeting tonight with the ambulance and fire crew, and a State Representative, our County Commissioner, the media, etc.. Hopefully some people step up, or it won’t be long before the burnout of the current 12 volunteers takes its toll and they fold.

Thanks, it’s just easy to take his comment either direction. My wife and I are very much involved in our Ambulance and Fire Dept’s, respectively.

About 75% of the fighting the fire down here this summer was local volunteers. I’m looking to join soon I felt like poop during evacuation not being able to do much
