No one wants to pay for tyres, so tyre workers ergo get *s-word wages and put that enthusiasm into the job.

This I get, nobody wants to pay for tires/tyres and especially since shops have started some of their ridiculous policies, although legal liability is possibly just as much a driving force as profit/greed

Most of the shops up here won't "mix" tires/tyres on the same axle; translation.... if you have a tire/tyre that they deem as non-repairable or worn out, and, it isn't a brand or style they sell, they will refuse to sell you just one tire/tyre, even if they have the exact same size in another style or brand, because it is UNSAFE to "mix" tires/tyres on the same axle, so they insist you buy 2 new tires/tyres

They pull the same crap on 4WD/AWD vehicles, they won't sell you 1 or 2 tires/tyres that are different from the rest of the tires/tyres on the vehicle because it is UNSAFE even if they are all the same size

You get hosed that way just once and I guarantee you will look at tire shops differently

The problem is exponentially worse up here twice a year during "changeover season", the month following the first snow when EVERYONE wants their winter tires/tyres changed over for the season and then the 2 weeks before May 1st, when studded tires/tyres have to be off the vehicle

They started charging an extra $10-20 per wheel some years back if you have TPS sensors because.....

Because they can

A seasonal changeover went from $60-70 to $100-120, and that's twice a year

I beat the system by buying winter rims for all my vehicles and changing them myself

I save a butt load of $$$ plus the wear and tear on the tires/tyres and rims from the seasonal temp workers they have to employ to get through the crunch

And it also stops the "oh, we can't put the tires/tyres we took off last October back on your car this May because they are 1/64th inch past the minimum tread depth in this one place we found with a magnifying glass so you need 4 new tires/tyres

What are you going to do when your car is on the lift, they already pulled your studded winter tires/tyres, and you have 4 bare rims staring at you

Also your chances of this shenanigan are probably 200% higher if you were born with lady bits

Tire/Tyre rant off...

Resume your normal activities

I accidentally left this stuck to the frame of a Yukon I put a transfer case in.

Customer had picked it up by the time I realized it, but they were passing back through after being in Northern WI.

They were nice enough to stop on their way back and it was still stuck to the frame. About 175 miles it traveled.
The head mechanic left one in a pto housing for 3 years. I had to go back in to it and found his light. It was soaked in hytran. I let it drip for 2 weeks. Then plugged it in. It still works 5 years later.

So after getting approval, the tire shop tells me they will get me out quickly. An hour later they said they are pulling it in now. Half an hour later, they come in and tell two other customers they are almost done. Guy looks at me and says they are pulling mine in now! WTF? I told him he said that 30 minutes ago. I give up. Going to bring it to Wisconsin from now on and have Ed work on it.

@redline4 are they like this there too? Before I make the drive!
Why are you *b-wording
Your getting paid by the hour lol
I went and found the original post and Facebook tells me two have my friends have already liked it…

I don't, but thanks for the offer! Lol
you seem to be cranky here lately
Got the breaker box done. Gonna redo the service entrance tomorrow so I can add a leg out to the bigger shop building. That job sucked.

I am not cranky Dallas, just taking it easy. I have found I just need to be nicer to people. So I try not to participate too much in the jocularity. Maybe I am just getting old......er. I do enjoy you all carrying on. Makes me laugh. You and Jason going at it is almost always funny. Until it gets old... Lol
