Got a screw in mine recently leaving the screw for now as it only needs air every week. That gunky stuff with the t handles works good for nails or screws

Bolt would leave a big hole behind tho unfortunately

Most of the larger local tire shops have adopted a 1/8" rule and refuse to repair a tire if the object is over 1/8" diameter, they want you to buy a new tire

Pretty worn out anyway. Drove the tail of the dragon yesterday in the rain, was a little hairy whenever there was a stream crossing the road. The good news, is i wont have to get a new truck for a while now. They keep buying those promasters, i already told them i wont drive one. So they keep skipping me whenever one comes in. Supposed to replace the trucks at 3 years, 150k. I am at 186k right now. Lol

I could see you behind the wheel of a van....

Looks like I didn’t get my apology to Gary @GCJenks204 in in time. Currently sitting in the tire store. View attachment 388409
Seems i found someones missing bolt. Was waiting on time to get new tires anyway. Karma came my way. They only have firestone transforce in stock. So that is what i am getting.
Sorry to see that, at least it's the work van and they are near end of life anyway. An amusing aside to my story, I was on the phone when the TPMS warning went off talking to the same person I was talking too the last time it happened.

The meat heads here can't patch a tire so they use a plug-patch. They ream the hole out to about 1/4" with a drill bit. Fùck those steel belts in there. Then they gob a bunch of rubber cenemt on and pull it through.

I seriously doubt it’s any different here

I hate dealing with tire shops, I have yet to find one that didn’t sketch me out one way or another

So after getting approval, the tire shop tells me they will get me out quickly. An hour later they said they are pulling it in now. Half an hour later, they come in and tell two other customers they are almost done. Guy looks at me and says they are pulling mine in now! WTF? I told him he said that 30 minutes ago. I give up. Going to bring it to Wisconsin from now on and have Ed work on it.

@redline4 are they like this there too? Before I make the drive!

Depends on the service writer. 99% of the time they have no clue what the guys in the shop are doing or how long whatever it is they are doing takes. They know everything that's currently happening on Facebook and Tic-Tok though.

Morning / Evening All, oh and a GFY to the 4 of you that “liked” the nail in tyre pic…

Foggy night with an almost full moon was pretty spectacular, just need to figure out better settings for these pictures.

I was just impressed with your DIY studded tyre. Little light on studs, but you're getting there.
that tells you how *s-wordty the trucks are
when the tractors was better but i still wouldnt own one
Good Ford tractors are probably Shibauras. Does that help?

That is proper procedure. A "mini-combi" repair unit. Two sizes of stem. Rusty belts are more likely to lead to total failure so the stem seals the injury from water.

No one wants to pay for tyres, so tyre workers ergo get *s-word wages and put that enthusiasm into the job.
