I have a lot of tools from Greenlee, Hastings, and Klein for work. Chit ain’t cheap.

Greenlee 2" compact knockout set with slug buster dies is a must-have.
Klein makes really nice sleeve bars, bull pins, and reamers for ironwork, and their step bits for electrical and ironwork are good quality.
I like Bessey for c-clamps and F-clamps.
Wilton arent bad though.
Ive tried the cheapo versions of those, and they dont even rate.
Klein also makes nice "bolt bags" that can be used to haul all sorts of things up and down if you work at heights.
Other folks havent figured that out yet.
Get a Fluke instument if you value your life around electricity.
Ive found all others will tell you deadly lies in the name of value.

Like the Greenlee carbide holesaws. I know they are $$$ but they kill it drilling stainless counters for grommets.

Those are good. Ideal also makes good ones.
Kleins are expensive, but really good.
Lennox stuff is so-so.

Had about 2 gallons of water in the oil pan. Had been rained on for years with a 3/4" opening in each valve cover. I figured it was junk. After cleaning everything, all I'm doing is new seals and gaskets. Well, and a nice little cam....some 283 Power Pack heads, Edelbrock Torker and a Holley.

On a seriuos note, anyone who needs to check for AC or DC power before making a repair that involves putting your hands into potentially live parts needs an instument that doesnt lie to them.
Dont trust a cheap meter for this.
I bought a "good" Klein multimeter years ago, after someone stole my Fluke 87V.
It had a magnetic battery cover that allowed you to stick it to a panel door etc.
Problem was, that magnet they put on the battery cover interfered with the AC volt meter function of the multimeter.
It would tell you there no voltage present, when in fact there was.
I found that out the hard way.
Fluke makes a good product, and they are time-tested.

I have some critical tools that are high quality.
Torque wrenches and other "metrics"(not the measuring system, tools that require calibration and precision).
I use some Hobo Freight tools on a daily basis, but mostly because they are easily lost(stolen) in my line of work.
They(HF) will replace MOST hand tools free of charge without issue.
Not sure about power tools.

Dont use it every day, but its been abused when I do.
Bought a corded oscillating cutter once. Lasted long enough for me to realise I needed one, but of a higher quality, so now I have one in a Milwaukee M18 cordless flavor.

Them oscillating tool are very handy for remodel work. My first milwaukee oscillating tool was making a noise like it had a rod knock brand new right out of the box, then it started smoking, never even used it yet.

Back to the lumber yard it went, got a 2nd one, I have 3 years on it of hard use, still going strong.
