Driveshaft hoops have saved many a asses from having serious injuries. I've seen them do their job a couple times. Also seen what happens when one isn't used. A guys brand new procharged 2010 Sierra comes to mind. The factory driveshaft let go at 70mph. The underneath of that truck looked like he hit an ied. Dude was lucky it broke at the pinion and not the tail shaft. Probably would've hooked the road and sent that truck rolling like a pepsi can in the windMakes sense I suppose. I drag raced for years....and u-joint failures can be catastrophic. So when I see something like this, I feel the need to know exactly why.
