my great grandfather bought this bit in the 1930s i think? its in a trust with the rest of the family, thats the only thing that keeps it affordable for a broke-ass like me lol.

My grandpa bought 15 acres with 3 cabins, on a 3 chain lake, between watersmeet & land o lakes, in the early 1940's for $2,200. We used to go there fishing, etc.

When he passed, my uncles decided to sell it, would of been nice if grandpa thought ahead, to put in a trust, so it would of stayed in the family.

even 5 years ago you could find 40-160 acres for less than 1000/A. not so much now…
edit:unless its chitty swamp, thats still cheap haha.

Yeah there's 40 acres on the Keweenaw right now, almost 80% of is a swamp, and no deeded access. They want almost $900 a acre.

yeah, its starting to actually get a little unwieldy now. originally it was 5 beneficiaries of the trust, all siblings, one of which was my grandmother. now its the next generation and there are 25 or so benficiaries. all with their own ideas.
edit: and about 1/3 are deadbeets, so that keeps it interesting.

Well, I called it.

Lord of the wrench waited until now to put a truck on the hoist he bent on Friday.
Then he got the manager to show him and said the plates "rotted" out and he heard a pop now it's crooked..
Dude, just sat you dropped a truck off it.
Funniest part, manager saw it happen but won't call him on it.
He won't mention it to me because I will.
